Jason Derulo is back, after a freak accident while dancing almost took his life.

The pop star was rehearsing for his world tour in January of 2012 when he mis-executed a flip and landed on his head. Derülo was diagnosed with a “Hang Man’s Break,” as he fractured the same bone that is broken when someone is hung. Many people die or are left paralyzed from the injury.

Derulo spent six months in a neck brace, and has made a full recovery. He now prepares to release his third studio LP, due out this summer on Warner Brothers Records. The first single is about his girlfriend Jordin Sparks, who joked on “The Ralphie Show” that as long as she’s breathing, Jason won’t attempt another back flip.
