INTERVIEW: Dr. Drew Says There’s More Troubles Ahead For Bieber

The reports have lasted over a year and have culminated with Justin Bieber’s arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Does the pop star have an issue when it comes to drugs and alcohol?

“It’s starting to look more like addiction because the substances we’re talking about include opiates,” Dr. Drew Pinksy told “The Ralphie Show.” “Remember the ‘sizzurp’ with codeine? Now there’s a prescription medication found in his car, allegedly… this was Xanax… these are the highly addictive chemicals.”

Dr. Drew does not believe the recent incident in Miami will serve as a wake-up call to Bieber.

“This is not over,” he cautioned. “Even ‘Justin Jones,’ the average Justin in the world, would need to sort of lose their freedom before they would really stop. Look at Lindsay (Lohan)? Same thing.”

The TV show host broke down some of the reasons why he believes this happens with celebrities.

“They just have too many buffers to the real consequences; they feel above it,” he said. “They feel entitled. They’re young. ‘Why shouldn’t I?’ ‘Who are you to say?’ Well, alright, whatever.”

Bieber’s arraignment on the charges of DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license was last week. He was not present for the hearing.
