VIDEO: Make-A-Wish Turns 13 Year-Old Olivia Into A Pop Star For A Day

Meet Olivia. She’s 13 years-old and suffers from recurrent brain cancer.

Olivia is a Make-A-Wish kid – this organization does so many amazing things in our area. For Olivia – her wish was to be a pop star. So last month, Olivia met with LA Reid at Epic Records and recorded a CD.

On Friday, in conjunction with Macy’s Believe campaign and Believe Day, Olivia released her album. A limo picked her up and brought her to a hotel, where Olivia was all dolled up and outfitted. From there it was off to Macy’s Herald Square. Fans waited in line for a signed copy of the album and photo with the pop star.

Then, Olivia and her entourage visited 95.5 PLJ. Of course we were sure to escort them up the super-private VIP entrance that only big celebrities use. Olivia went to her green room, set-up with her favorite foods (as specified on her rider, naturally) and a special gift – a pink Nintendo DS that she wanted from Santa. There were plenty of fans here that wanted to chat with her as well. Her handler – who is our actual radio promo rep for Epic Records, Charlie Foster – was here to make sure the meet-and-greet went smoothly.

When Olivia wrapped her second meet-and-greet of the day and a quick shoot with our friends at Music Choice, she sat down for the interview you heard on “Ralphie Tonight” Friday. You can check out more from our chat on this page.

It was a special day for a special young lady. We have to extend a big thank you to Macy’s, the amazing people at Make-A-Wish America, and Olivia’s family. It was our honor to be a part of something so inspiring and extraordinary.

Also – check out Macy’s Believe campaign. For every letter that Macy’s receives either in store or online, $1 will be donated to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million.
