Joe Jonas probably has the weekend of November 18 circled on his calendar… or highlighted in his phone. You get the idea.

On that Friday, the Jonas-fronted DNCE will drop its debut, full-length album. The following Sunday, DNCE will head over to the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles for the 2016 American Music Awards. DNCE snagged two nominations, including New Artist Of The Year, which put the “Cake By The Ocean” singer in a league of his own; he’s the first artist to be nominated for that award twice – it’s a trophy he won with his brothers back in 2008.

“That’s an incredible feeling,” Jonas said when I brought that up to him on Monday morning. He and Rachel Platten helped reveal some of the AMA nominations on “Good Morning America” in Times Square. “I was not expecting that; when Rachel said my name, I had to kind of like, take a second to think about it.

“It’s overwhelming. It’s a bizarre feeling to know that you can reinvent yourself and hopefully it encourages a lot of artists out there because part of this game is being able to come up with stuff that’s new and evolve as an artist. We do it because of the love of music.”

DNCE is also up for Favorite Group or Duo – Pop/Rock with some stiff competition between The Chainsmokers and Twenty One Pilots. The band also shares the New Artist nod with The Chainsmokers, as well as Shawn Mendes, Zayn and Alessia Cara.

“It’s going to be a party,” Jonas replied when I asked what he thinks that November weekend will be like. “We’ll probably be still on a high from releasing an album but walking in to nominations amongst these great artists, fan-voted completely, that’s the best feeling.”

Jonas noted that it’s also nice just to have a release date for the anticipated LP.

“We have songs that we just created a few months ago and it’s cool to like actually have a set-date rather than kind of the guessing game,” he said. “I just can’t wait for people to hear it. We’ve been playing some of the songs on tour and testing them out but now to be able to have a physical album to hold on to is a good feeling.”

In addition to “Cake By The Ocean” becoming nearly inescapable, DNCE spent this last summer supporting Selena Gomez on tour. Gomez also scored two AMA nods, including for the evening’s top prize for Artist Of The Year.

The 2016 American Music Awards air Sunday night November 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Demi Lovato’s fans are calling the release of her latest single “Cool For The Summer,” “a new era” for the singer. Lovato concurs.

“It’s definitely sexier, it’s more mature and it’s fun,” she said of the new track. “That’s the thing about my music that I feel that sometimes I lack is, the fun element of it because I get so deep with my story and blah-blah-blah-blah-blah.

“It’s just like, ‘f— this!’ I just want to have fun with my music. I want to talk about things… sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll – let’s do it.”

Yep, it’s a new era alright. By her own account, Lovato’s trials and tribulations are well documented. She’s dealt with an eating disorder, substance abuse and a stint in rehab. Through her autobiography and music that was subsequently released, Lovato has addressed all of this with a strong front, inspiring other young girls that they too can overcome their obstacles.

The current state of Lovato may be perhaps the greatest evidence of that achievement. The singer exudes confidence and is as busy as ever: a joint record label venture with Nick Jonas, a skincare line, hair extensions, a new iPhone game and music are all on her plate at the moment.

“I have never been more confident in my music, in myself and just ready to go,” she confirmed. “I’ve never wanted it this bad my whole life and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this album the biggest album I’ve ever released.”

Lovato’s fifth studio LP has no street date as of yet. While she elaborated on the direction of her art, she admitted that she has “no idea of what the track listing is going to look like yet,” although did confirm that she plans to record a collaboration for the project with rapper Iggy Azalea.

And that in itself should tell you that regardless of how it appears, the final set will look much different from anything Lovato has released before.

While this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, count Kevin Jonas as one of the many happy with the accomplishments of his younger brother Nick.

“Nick’s doing an amazing job. He’s working his ass off and having so much fun,” the oldest JoBro told me last week on the red carpet at the Garden of Dreams Talent Show inside Radio City Music Hall. “I think the music speaks for itself. Yunno, having two top 10 hits is huge, and it’s a feat all in its own.”

The youngest of the three musicians scored success on the pop chart with “Jealous” and “Chains.” Perhaps also not surprising: it doesn’t seem Nick is stopping there.

“I’ve heard there’s more music coming as well,” revealed Kevin. “So, I’m excited for him.”

Count Kevin strictly as a cheerleader though, and not as an older brother who tries to play mentor.

“Nick’s doing his thing. Each one of us is kind of doing our own thing,” he responded when I asked him about mentoring his younger bro. I posed the question because the event we were at centers on mentorship: the Garden of Dreams Foundation partners kids facing obstacles with celebrities throughout entertainment to receive guidance leading up to the event at Radio City.

Kevin did note that as the Jonas Brothers grew up, they had a few big names and experiences to lean on themselves.

“We got to meet a lot of amazing people as we got to travel and do different things,” Jonas noted, immediately mentioning the 51st GRAMMYs performance that the boys shared with Stevie Wonder. “Talking to Paul McCartney and being able to share our stories and him actually wanting to hear what we had to say and to tell us about his life… it’s just, things like that I’ll never forget.”

Damaris Lewis is a celebrity mentor for Thursday’s Garden of Dreams Talent Show at Radio City Music Hall. The Brooklyn-born star brings a diverse resume to the table: Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model, backup dancer for Prince and cameo in Kanye West’s music video for “Monster” are just a few of the things found on her Wikipedia (of course, we confirmed). Not surprisingly, Lewis was able to answer a question about what kids participating in the show could learn from the aforementioned musicians with relative ease.

“Listen,” she responded when asked what “The Purple One” could teach others. “I think that working with Prince, the one that I notice is that he hears everything. He’s very observant, and that’s important if you’re going to go in to a career in entertainment. You need to know what’s happening all around you, at all times.”

Perhaps his public persona would prevent others from linking Kanye West to a mentorship role at a kids’ talent show, but GRAMMY Awards and chart-topping albums don’t come without hard work and talent.

“Be yourself,” Lewis said of what Mr. West could teach those performing at Radio City Thursday. “Never be afraid, just like Hoda (Kotb), to be the same person you are when you wake up when you’re on that stage. If you carry that energy that you have on the stage in to your real life, your confidence levels will be the same in both areas.”

The “Today” host, along with stars from Broadway and The Rockettes, also serve as mentors to those participating Thursday.

“I love Garden of Dreams because they bring you people who are the same on the camera and off the camera,” Lewis noted of her colleagues. “I think it’s really important for the kids to see that as well because they’re going to meet Hoda, and then they’re going to watch her and say, ‘Wow! That’s the same woman I met!’

“It’s really great energy for the kids to have, on-and-off the clock.”

The Garden of Dreams Talent Show will feature children found through its 25 partner organizations that are facing difficulties, such as extreme poverty or homelessness. The event takes place on Thursday at Radio City Music Hall, and is free to the public. It kicks off at 7 p.m.

Had things gone as scheduled, the North American leg of Iggy Azalea’s “The Great Escape” tour would be in full swing. Sadly for fans of Azalea and supporting acts Nick Jonas and Tinashe, that was not to be the case. Citing “production delays,” the “Fancy” rapper postponed her trek until September. In the midst of the change, three shows were subtracted from the itinerary, presumably due to scheduling conflicts.

And Sacramento, Las Vegas and Baltimore were not the only losses in the mishap. On top of undertaking the creative direction for her arena tour, Azalea was also faced with the task of finding new opening performers. Jonas, as he has talked about a couple of times on “Ralphie Tonight,” has a jam-packed 2015 between music and acting commitments. And Tinashe, who scored a breakout hit last year with “2 On,” will now support Nicki Minaj’s “The Pinkprint Tour” alongside Meek Mill, Rae Sremmurd and Dej Loaf.

Making the media rounds during Live Nation’s “National Concert Day,” Tinashe explained to “Ralphie Tonight” how she found out that her 2015 calendar would be changing.

“My manager (Mike Nazarro) had found out,” the singer responded, before elaborating. “We were starting to just get the signs and we kind of knew that something was happening, so when it finally went down I was like, ‘Darn! That’s really disappointing.’”

Without even taking a breath, Tinashe adds that she is excited to tour this summer with Minaj.

“It definitely worked out,” she continued. “I think it’s going to be a really exciting show; a lot of energy (and) a great lineup.”

The trek kicks off July 17 in Dallas.

Is Kesha nearing a return to the airwaves? The pop star entered rehab, allegedly for an eating disorder, in January of 2014. By March a rep confirmed to ABC News that she had left the facility. The following May, she was seen at the Billboard Music Awards along side “Rising Star” cohorts Josh Groban, Ludacris and Brad Paisley.

The singer, nee Kesha Sebert, went on to fulfill her role as coach/mentor on the ABC competition last summer. She also kept up appearances at various events, including some shows surrounding New York Fashion Week. I actually remember running in to her back in 2013 at a Yankees/Mets game in Queens. I was reminded of this just now, as a quick Google News search of the artist brought up a Daily News article that shows her at Citi Field on Wednesday.

For what it’s worth, the Mets won both times.

This year, Kesha already returned to the stage – performing a number of college dates and one-off shows. On Tuesday, the “TiK ToK” singer took the stage at Black Cat DC in our nation’s capital. After the show, Kesha posted this video on her Instagram page. (EXPLICIT LANGUAGE)

Some sights and sounds from day 2 of “Ralphie Tonight” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for Westwood One’s “Red Carpet Radio” at The 57th GRAMMYs. The busiest of the two days saw GRAMMY nominees, pas winners and more stop by to chat with “Ralphie Tonight.”

Nick Jonas flew from New York to Green Bay, Wis. and saw the Packers beat the Cowboys at Lambeau Field in the NFL Playoffs. You could say the singer had two horses in the race, and was destined to walk out feeling like a winner.

“Technically I am a Giants fan,” explained Jonas on “Ralphie Tonight.” The 22 year-old was raised in Wyckoff, N.J. “The way it works is that when the Giants are out, which they are this year because they were not that great unfortunately, I fall back to the Cowboys.”

While Jonas admitted to rooting for divisional opponents and noted that he receives a lot of grief over it, his allegiances make sense when you consider his family’s history. The youngest of the “Jonas Brothers” (but not the youngest of his four brothers) was born in Dallas. The family moved back to the area a couple of years ago.

But how do the Packers factor in to this?

“I had the unique opportunity to play in a golf tournament, and I was paired with Aaron Rodgers,” he continued. “This was back in April, and we became friends. So, I gotta support my friend as well.”

Jonas is not the first celebrity to root for the Packers because of Rodgers. “The Office” actor Brian Baumgartner met Rodgers at the same event in 2013 and golfed with the singer and quarterback this year. Like Jonas, Baumgartner also backs the “Green and Yellow.”

Granted, Jonas’ football interests seem a bit more complicated than those of Governor Chris Christie, but then again, the artist doesn’t have constituents in one particular area of the country to worry about. Still, Jonas doesn’t think that a person’s favorite football team should affect people’s opinions of said person.

“Here’s the deal: The Cowboys are ‘America’s Team,’” he stated very matter-of-factly in his defense of the Governor, who like Jonas also roots for Dallas and is friends with owner Jerry Jones. “He’s allowed to like whoever he wants. It really doesn’t matter.”

There was another point that Jonas made sure to drive home. It came up when I mentioned that his girlfriend, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, is from Rhode Island and could sway his favoritism towards New England.

“Let me just make one thing clear,” Jonas said as my question trailed off. “I don’t have to be a Patriots fan.”

Culpo has played a “pageant coach” of sorts to her boyfriend, teaching him about the different aspects of the competition. Jonas has seen a lot of it for himself too: he performed with his brothers at Miss Teen USA and co-hosted Miss USA. The couple will travel to Florida later this month for Miss Universe; Jonas jokes that he is “completing the circuit.” He will perform a medley of songs, including the smash hit “Jealous,” during the Evening Gown portion of the televised event.

Jonas also performed at the Kennedy Awards, is set to star in a new James Franco film, will release another single from his self-titled album, and hits the road with Iggy Azalea later this year. Plus he has a show on DirecTV that was renewed and a headlining tour could materialize in about nine months. Jonas’ entire year is already planned out, in part because he has a hard time saying “no.”

“When you really want to go after it, you can’t say no,” he told me. “For the first year, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes.”

It’s easier said than done and certainly for Jonas, not as easy as picking what football team to cheer on.
