INTERVIEW: Grandma Attempts to Set Guiness World Record With Video Game

Kathleen Henkel has traveled to third world countries and watched her children have children. But perhaps none of that can prepare the 68 year-old for her next task, as she attempts to play a video game for 30 consecutive hours.

The New Jersey-native traveled to New York on Tuesday to begin the quest with PopCap’s “Solitaire Blitz.” Her and another contestant from England will attempt the feat to raise almost $100,000 for charity: water, which provides clean water to developing nations. Although Henkel is strongly motivated by the non-profit and is a life-long solitaire player, even she wasn’t sure how she would manage to stay awake for so many hours.
