I have fond memories of living downtown and workin I have fond memories of living downtown and working inside One World Trade Center -- and not just from my former employer and colleagues. I walked the narrow streets of FiDi daily as my commute. You saw everyone -- financial execs, police officers, construction workers, food vendors... even the occasional Anna Wintour sighting, all as I made my way into the building's entrance and through security. It is a small yet accurate slice of the melting pot that is New York City. The foot traffic and the area around 1WTC also serves as a symbol of how this city recovers and rebuilds without ever forgetting. God bless NYC. 🇺🇸

Anyways this week, it’s all about @torikelly! - The first time I interviewed her was in a hotel room at Dream Midtown in February 2015. S/O to @pamkaye (and @sykeonair @johnmingione). I thought she was pregnant but not because of how she looked. Long story. - I’ve interviewed her a bunch since, mostly at award shows. - I interviewed her today! Our interview will be on the @usatodaylife YouTube next week. - I once ran into her, on the Upper West Side, on my block as I was coming home from work one night! She was with friends and playing the Beacon Theatre that week. I know, small city. - I have no idea if she roots for a football team and that’s fine because THANKFULLY, the Bills are off this week.

Shout-out to @jbspd1 who called “Tattoo” being a hit. - I’ve interviewed her twice since, both times pictured, in LA in 2013. - Jordin was just announced as a performer for the #MacysParade on Thanksgiving. - She’s from Arizona, and I’ll be rooting against her Cardinals Sunday. GO BILLS.
Flashback Friday? Fun facts Friday? Anyways, here’s a few things about @ciara... - I first interviewed her in 2007, my senior year at @syracuseu, in the Carrier Dome! I’ll never forget her telling me that her workout that day was running the steps at the Dome. I was impressed. - I’ve interviewed her a bunch since, including last month for @usatoday. - I worked alongside her and Ludacris when I was the warmup act for the @bbmas and she co-hosted. - She’s always been great to chat with! That said, you see that guy in the fourth photo, far left? Yeah, that’s her husband. I’ll be loudly rooting against him Sunday. #GOBILLS 😂🏈
How it started (when I bought that blazer 7 years How it started (when I bought that blazer 7 years ago) vs. how it’s going. I’m thankful to be working. I’m just as if not more thankful to be producing the best work of my career. And I’ve thought a lot lately about why that is. There are a lot of different factors. Experiences, both good and bad. Knowledge of my skill set and how to best leverage it. Increasing amount of skills and improving on existing ones. An environment that supports growth and content in multiple ways. Finding ways, monetary and otherwise, to invest in myself. Health (diet, exercise). Personal life (living situation, relationship). Bottom line -- it’s tough! And regardless of your talent level, surrounding yourself with good people and keeping an open mind definitely make it all more possible. Recycling wardrobe pieces to free up more cash to buy equipment and fund other ventures doesn’t hurt the cause either. 😉
